CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. In a CSA, members of the community pledge support to a farm. In this agreement, grower and consumers (shareholders) reap the rewards of farm-fresh produce and share the risks of food production. In a CSA model the farmer benefits through knowing the market and quantity of food to grow. The shareholder benefits from knowing they will have a reliable supply of fresh, seasonal produce. The CSA shareholder understands there is unpredictability of weather, pest problems, and other factors that may result in harvest bounty or crop setbacks.
At Heritage Creek, one of our goals is to provide a local food source for our community. Through our CSA we grow chemical-free produce for our shareholders. As a CSA shareholder you are committing to receive a share of seasonal vegetables produced on our farm. In our CSA, the consumers pay a pre-season deposit that helps our farm with pre-season expenses – seeds, potting soil, etc. Our CSA offers several options for payment of the remaining balance. See below for more details.
It is our mission to provide farm-fresh, seasonal, local produce to our CSA families. We feel people should have a relationship with their food. We believe in transparent farming practices that respect and protect the environment and our natural resources. We use compost and organic approved fertilizers. If necessary, we use organically approved pest management. Our potting mix is OMRI approved. Although not certified organic, we use organic seeds (whenever possible) and use chemical-free, sustainable growing methods to produce fresh and nutritious produce for our CSA members.
Full season CSA members will eat their way through the seasons - spring, summer and fall. For 2024, families that are enrolled in seasonal programs on the farm can select to be CSA members for spring, summer and/or fall.
There will be no harvest on the week of July 4 & Labor Day. These weeks our farming staff will be focusing on field work, seed starting and transplanting for the successive plantings.

CSA families receive the “fruits of our labor”. We take pride in growing a variety of seasonal and nutritional crops. Many of the crops grown are commonly known and used foods, but we also strive to introduce CSA families to some less familiar foods. As part of our CSA, we provide recipes to help with simple meal planning, and offer culinary usages to encourage families to incorporate new foods into their diets.
As with any CSA, shares are based upon seasonal crops picked at the peak of their ripeness. Although quantity will vary based upon what is ready to be harvested, each share will include on average 8-10 different kinds of farm-fresh produce.
Despite our best farming efforts, there are risks with farming. By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share the rewards of crop successes and the risk of crop failures. Please take this into consideration when joining any CSA.

The CSA and produce from HCFC is the best I have ever purchased! I wish I had found this CSA sooner! I feel good knowing that I am getting top quality produce that is locally grown. The love and hard work that the farm has for food shows through the quality, quantity and variety of produce we receive in our shares.
As a CSA member I have been able to try new vegetables and also learn about things on the farm that I didn't previously know. I am thankful for the farm and highly recommend this CSA.

Being an environmentally conscious person, one of the ways I help to reduce the carbon footprint is by eating seasonal produce that is grown locally. I appreciate the fact that my food is only traveling a short distance from farm to my fork!
An added benefit of being a CSA member is having the opportunity to be involved in the life of the farm. We see the beauty of the farm each time we pick up our share and we can also visit the various growing areas to see our future produce!
I love when I pick up my share and see the colors of the rainbow! The aroma and flavor of my farm-fresh food can't be beat. The difference in the flavor of produce eaten straight from the field can be tasted in every bite.

Through using sustainable food production practices that works in harmony with nature, we let nature create healthy ecosystem on our farmland. By encouraging biodiversity, there are many plants and animals living along side each other just as nature intended.
Regenerative agriculture promotes rich soil conditions, protect watersheds, and enhances the health of local wildlife. Through reducing disturbances and keeping the soil covered, we provide an environment for microbes to thrive.
Healthy topsoil retains water, absorbs nutrients and stores carbon.
We use natural inputs made mostly from things grown on our farm to produce highly nutritious and hardy crops.
We plant a variety of heirloom seeds to help preserve time-tested seeds which tend to have superior taste and are more resistance to disease and insects.
Healthy plants are more adaptable to extreme weather conditions.
