Bring your family to the farm to enjoy Stone Soup under the Harvest Moon, learn how full moon names relate to the seasons, and say goodnight to the farm animals at sunset.
The Harvest Moon by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
"It is the Harvest Moon! On gilded vanes And roofs of villages, on woodland crests And their aerial neighborhoods of nests Deserted, on the curtained window-panes Of rooms where children sleep, on country lanes And harvest-fields, its mystic splendor rests! Gone are the birds that were our summer guests, With the last sheaves return the laboring wains! All things are symbols: the external shows Of Nature have their image in the mind, As flowers and fruits and falling of the leaves; The song-birds leave us at the summer's close, Only the empty nests are left behind, And pipings of the quail among the sheave."

In addition to farm and nature based activities, unstructured activities are an important part of our Farm Camp day. Unstructured, free play is so often undervalued in our current culture. Studies and direct experience tell us that imaginative capacities and empathic intelligence are best developed during self directed play. Our daily rhythm includes ample, unstructured time for free play, and our farm facility provides the environment for imaginative outdoor adventures.
Our farm facility has woods, stream, meadows and fields. During free play the imagination is given the freedom to explore and experience. Unstructured outdoor play provides the gift of creating inner peace.
Deposits, and sometimes payments in full, are required at time of registration to hold your space in a program. The amount owed at time of registration varies from program to program. Payment can be made online via PayPal or made via check payable to: Heritage Creek Farm Camp and mailed to: 2126 Risser Mill Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
